Shockwave Therapy

How is the therapy done?

Your Chiropractor will discuss your symptoms with you and locate the source of pain. They will then mark the area intended for the Shockwave Therapy. A gel is applied to optimize the contact between the application device and your skin. The hand piece delivers pulsations to the pain area for a few prescribed pulses, depending on the condition. Each treatment session lasts between 5-10 minutes.

Benefits:

Shockwave therapy is used to reduce pain and tissue tension, break down scar tissue, promote collagen production, increase growth factor, promote calcified fiber, improve blood circulation, and stimulate cytokines.

How many sessions do I need?

Shockwave therapy is often performed every 3-7 days for at least 6 treatments depending on chronicity of the problem.

After receiving Shockwave Therapy, you can:

  • Bear weight (i.e., walk) immediately.
  • Return to work/normal activities without restriction but listen to your body!

Areas commonly treated:

  • Feet
  • Arms
  • Legs
  • Back
  • Waist
  • Neck
  • Shoulders

Our commitment is to provide you with a holistic therapy plan designed to alleviate pain and discomfort in as few visits as possible, allowing you to get back to your sports and activities without any limitations or worries about recurring injuries.
